Changed In A Second

by Emily   Oct 12, 2005

I was driving home from the college
Laughing and joking with my friend
I wouldn't begin to realize
of how this night would end

Being in the dead of night,
So dark, even the car lights can't give a clear view
on the opposite side of the road, was a car with its hazard lights on
so we pulled more towards the white line and continued

Slowing down out of respect,
we passed by the car
not knowing that our fate
didn't lie far

CRASH...our car comes to a stop
their was a car on our side
with no lights, nothing
i just wanted to go hide

because i knew my life was over
there was two people on the outside of that car
i had no clue that car was there
since it was so dark

would i be trialed for murder?
or would they see that i truly couldn't see them
whatever happens
i just want to get it out of my head, never think of it again

then i came to,
realized i just missed the car
in a second my life would have changed
lost my friends, and my family torn apart

what if we all wouldn't have made it
i've never truly told people how much i care
how they have made me who i am
and for giving me this life to share

don't live life
without letting the people you love know it
because before you know it
your life can be changed in a second
