Please don't look at me like that and smile
It makes me think maybe this is worthwhile

We had a short thing but we weren't very strong
Now being together as "just friends" feels so wrong

We spent the day together and everything was fine
But when you held my hand I wished you were mine

But that will never happen again so please don't pretend
My heart gets confused and thinks you're not just a friend

All you have to do is look at me and I melt
I just wish I knew exactly what you felt

I want to be your girlfriend but I can't read your mind
Do you want it too or am I really wasting my time??

I can't tell you how I feel cause I can't take the pain
Of having to here you say that I really have nothing to gain
