God's Final Masterpiece

by Daniel Jimenez   Oct 16, 2005

This beautiful morning I did rise
And wiped the tiredness from my eyes.
Peeked out the window just to see
God's wonderful creations staring back at me.

Oh such beautiful grand trees!
My what gorgeous wild flowers!
Wide blue skies galore!
Such beauty, such grace such valor!

Endless green grass stretching
At the feet of mountains high.
Reaching up towards the heavens
Tickling the clear blue sky.

I heard the soft sway of nature
Sweeping through the morning air.
And the gurgling of a near buy creek
Reminding us that it is there.

This beauty was beyond belief
So I raised my hands and gave God praise.
For creating such a masterpiece
In only seven days.

I thanked Him for this beauty, I said,
"Lord your creation is beyond divine"!
And He answered, "But my son there's one who's prettier
Than all these things combined"

"I made her far much grander
than the grandest tree.
Her winning ways and elegance
You can plainly see."

"I made her smile from the wide sky
and set her hues from wild flowers.
Then breathed life into her body
With my might and endless power."

"As far as the grass stretches
is as far as her beauty extends.
And like the mountain her elegance is to high
For even you to comprehend."

"The gentle whisper of nature
and the soft voices of a tiny creek.
Can not compare to her sweetest song
Sung with a heart so meek."

"Heaven and Earth I did make first,
their beauty shall never cease.
But woman I did make last,
Because she was my final masterpiece"

What a punchline. The ideas in this poem are wonderful but I think it could flow in rhythm a little better if you edit some words out to make more rhythmic sense. Hope that's constructive.
