These I Have Loved

These I have loved:

Hot summer days with a warm airy breeze,
sleeping after staying up all night.
The warmth only found in a best friend’s hug,
stage lights that blind the audience from sight.

Driving around with the music up loud,
toasting marshmallows on a candle’s flame.
Receiving a call from an old childhood friend,
to find that some things are still the same.

The adrenaline rush when the audience cheers,
after a performance I feel went well.
Lying in bed after a day at the beach,
still feeling the oceans waves swell.

Spending a day with my friends doing nothing at all,
and still feeling that the day was well spent.
Knowing I’m somewhere exciting and new,
as the plane is on it’s final descent.

I have loved the way my friends’ eyes light up
When we see each other again after a long time.
The satisfaction of looking down on a spectacular view,
After a long and difficult climb
