Past Secret

by Ashelin   Oct 20, 2005

A cool shimmering mist
Doth cover the emerald forest
Hiding it's precious secrets
From those it deems unworthy
Keeping and protecting what is within
Creating a blanket of safety for it's creatures

If thee is wrapped
In this cool shimmering mist
Inside the emerald forest, in the moon light
Do not make a move, nor sound
If thou wishes to see the beauty
Of the protected creatures flight

Holding very still, perhaps you will see
As moonlight hits a silvery mane
A gleaming gold horn, doth glisten in the night
As feathery white wings flutter so gently
A creature of myth, you have come across
Hidden for centuries, protected by the mist

Only once in a lifetime, may some one see
The true beauty of a past well forgotten
For hidden away, in the emerald forest
Is the last of the true past, of our magical world
Hidden, protected, and now forgotten
Shoved away into books of myth.
