Suffocating

I am suffocating.
Slowly dying inside.
He is so close,
I can almost touch him.

But whenever I reach,
Something pulls me away.
An unknown force,
Keeping us apart.

Now it’s too late,
He has found someone new.
Someone he cares for.

There was a time,
To tell him how I feel.
But that time has
Come and gone.

Now I must sit here,
And live with my regrets.
Huddled in a corner,
Watching from afar.

Whatever way I do it,
I must see the only
One I’ve ever loved,
Love someone else.
