Modern Day Fairytale

by N J Thornton   Oct 22, 2005

She waved,
And beamed a smile.
He returned her thrown kiss.
Already late for work, he called,
"I love you, don't forget the milk."
She knowingly nodded to him,
Hushing him to hurry.
As he drove off,
She waved.

This is in the form of a rictometer and a poor one I know. I thought it would be interesting for my first rictometer to write about modern day true love. I mean what couple doesn't eventually remind one another to get the milk? OK I suppose this has a touch of humour. It's supposed to be short (it's part of the form) and it's not really what I think of modern love, it's just a poem.

It is so cute. I loved it. Isn't it funny how when you get older you seem to say "I love you and don't forget to pick up something on your way home" I can't wait until I get married and do the same thing. But it was adorable.
