My house fire

My house fire

I remember it as if it was yesterday
The thick black smoke
When will the pain ever go away?
Lying in my bed asleep, then I woke

It happened so fast
The aloud nose of braking glass
The whistle of the crackling fire
Fire fighters came from all over the shire

The first thing they grabbed was the photos on the wall
They did not have time to grab them all
We lost so much stuff
With a sentimental touch

It is so hard to watch your mates go though it to
It brings back so many memories & pain
I wish their was something I could do
To wash away all their pain

But I know what its like
The pain sticks with you for life
It hurts deep down inside
Like one big giant roller caster ride
