My Sonnet 1

by kiesha   Oct 24, 2005

At times I think this man is not for me.
My true love's eyes are as brown as a log,
Not blue as the enchanting, lonely sea.
He is the worst of all attention hogs.
He can be very conceited, it's true.
And desires more than a pirate does gold,
But I melt in his arms, what can I do?
He has my love and I shall never scold.
His words seem to come from a sailor's lips.
He at times knows not when to be quiet.
He appears a little round in the hips,
But hark, this can be fixed with a diet.
I'm not a girl who is pretty or fair,
But together we make a perfect pair.

* I had to write this for English class in response to Shakespeare's Sonnet 130

Wow, this is amazing. And You mock Shakespeare so well! (in a good way of course). Sonnets are pretty hard to write but you did this with such passion. You're an awesome writer!
