Dear friend

by Bernadette   Oct 25, 2005

Dear friend

I guess I learnt today,
From the cuts along your wrist,
They showed me a way,
To the signs I some how missed.

You mother found out too,
Not long after me,
Her worry was very true,
But the reason she didnâ??t see.

She said call the doctor quick,
My daughter has depression,
Give her pills for a quick fix,
I believe they relieve the tension.

But they did not see how much it hurt,
Your deep imbedded pain,
They could not see how it made you,
It was sending you insane.

The pills sometimes helped,
I believe I saw another smile,
But deep inside your soul,
You were still facing denial.

You started to fade away,
You were not the girl I knew before,
You knew you could not stay,
You felt you were missing something more.

So you got the knife and cut your wrist,
These was the signs we all missed,
How to guide you to delight,
How to teach you what was wrong n right.

How to make you fall in love,
See what its like to feel beyond and above,
The blood came rushing out your wrist,
You are the friend whose signs I missed.

Goodbye my friend,
Sleep well tonight,
Your broken sores I could not mend,
I hope you find what feels right.

love always bernadette xxx
