From Weak to Strong

by Lyn   Oct 25, 2005

Nowhere to turn to,
Nowhere to hide,
Nowhere to run from
This anguish inside.
My love has forsaken me,
Only my heart
Cries do not desert me
Do not depart.

I'll struggle forever
Until all of my hopes
Are realised and true:
Untie all the ropes
That hold me together,
It cannot be wrong,
Treachery never
Will stifle my song.

For now I am stronger
Not weak anymore
It's me dancing lively
Out on life's floor.
If you think I'm broken
I'm not I'm redeemed
The weakness of loving you
Is not what it seemed.

Refusing self-pity,
Now I am strong
Out on life's journey
Is where I belong.
So do not expect me
To crawl after you
I'm dancing, I'm lively
And I can be true;

True to the promise
My early life gave,
Do not expect me
To lie in the grave
Where you held me.
It's now disappeared.
Life without you
Is not what I feared.

For you were destructive,
Controlling and wrong
But you failed to destroy
My dance and my song.
Look at me, see me,
In truth I can fly,
Now turn...... walk away
I am free ......... it's goodbye.

    Lynn,

    For you were destructive,
    Controlling and wrong
    But you failed to destroy
    My dance and my song.
    Look at me, see me,
    In truth I can fly,
    Now turn...... walk away
    I am free ......... it's goodbye.

^^^Good on you girl! I love to read about girl-power!!!!
There is so much strenght in this verse and I applaud you on it.
You should never be afraid to say goodbye when love has gone.
    Bravo, dear heart!

    Hugs,

That was beautiful. Are you really 52?
My mum can't write poetry like that, and she's the same age.

    Good Writing!
