Fish In The Sea

Over the many years
I've been wronged in so many ways
And hurt so many people
But none of it matters now

I'm only one person
In a sea of billions
My feelings are obsolete
Unheard among the waves of sound

Why should one person
Be able to affect
All who surround and ignore
They'll never understand

I have no hope or sorrow
No apprehension or regret
Just quiet contentment
And vague submission

The battle is lost
And so is the war
So strip me down with ridicule
I've laid down my arms

I'm done with this endless fight
There is no chance at victory
Only defeat and dismay
So cast me away forever
