Looking back at you

by Holly Nicole Williams   Oct 25, 2005

You were the one who always believed in me
You never judged, you just let me be
You always had a way at making me laugh
Whenever I was sad,
I wasn't for very long
You would make sure of that.

You loved animals, and liked to dress in style.
You never let me walk alone
For me, you would walk that extra mile.

We were all filled with tears when God called you home
But we know that He sent His most presious angels,
So that you wouldn't have to go alone.

You now have a beautiful granddaughter
That you never got the chance to meet
You should see her, she's just like you. It's so unbelievable
I wish you could see...
From the very top of her head, to the wiggling of her little feet.

You would have been the best grandmother
There is so much you would have taught her
Your most important lesson, being...
"Always love one another."

In a way, I can still feel you here
Whenever I hear a child's laughter,
I know that you're near.

Whenever I see the stars sparkle in the sky
I would remember that those were the very same stars that sparkled in your eyes.

Whenever I see a beautiful flower bloom
I'd see your smile
And the way that it would always brighten up a room.

Whenever I see a small animal come my way,
I can still see you pick him up
And give him a safe home
I'n your arms is where he'd stay.

So, whenever I think of heaven
I think of how wonderful it must be
Because whenever I look up smiling at you,
I know that you're up there,
Smiling back down at me.
