My final goodbye

by Holly Nicole Williams   Oct 26, 2005

I'm sorry that I hurt you
I caused you pain
That is something that I never mean't to do.

But you must realize that the hurt went both ways.
It hurt me more when you couldn't stay.

In our relationship there were things you done that hurt me
But I would always forgive you for it
Even about a certain girl named Jessie.
But if I made a simple mistake of my own
You would throw a fit
So, tell me, where's the fairness in that?
Go ahead, make my day and tell me...

Since we're not together anymore
Don't tell me about your little girls
And I won't tell you about my boys
I don't want to hear about your scores
It would hurt too much to hear that
I now realize...you have your own loyalties.

If I knew that this would hurt so much
Then, I wish we would have never met
Maybe then, things wouldn't have been so tough
Because it's been hard to pay off all this emotional debt.

So, now we just bow out
And I'll try my best to say goodbye
I know now that what we had
were just precious memories gone by
So now all I need to do is build up the strength
To give my final goodbye.
