A Friend Instead

by Matthew Bell   Oct 26, 2005

You try to keep it to yourself,
All locked up and hidden inside,
But that someone will come along,
In which whom you can confide.

And when you tell them what you hide,
Hoping that they wont go and spill,
What you're heart is telling you,
Just exactly how you feel.

So you told them then whats on your mind,
About this girl of whom you admire,
All the feelings and the thoughts,
Right down to the deepest desires.

So your friend now knows all,
And wants to see what they can do,
To see if there's any feelings,
From this girl to you.

On hearing this you feel so good,
Wondering what the answer will be,
You wait patiently as the days go by,
Dieing to know what waits for thee.

The answers in,
You can't wait to know,
Your hearts in your throat,
Here it comes it's a NO.

It hits you hard but its true,
She just wants to be a friend,
Its still OK it will do,
There's just a heart that needs to mend.
