Angel Of The Night

by Matthew Bell   Sep 8, 2007

My angel how do I see,
How much I truly care for thee,
A heart you stole indeed you did,
The heart you stole belonged to me.

With my soul I'll watch you so,
As you live and as you sleep,
As night falls with dreams so warm,
My thoughts of you so strong, so deep.

As my heart beats I'm at rest,
A question why does request,
To what prey tell do I owe the rush,
That has my heart pound within my chest.

My eyes tell all, they have seen,
Why my heart has become so keen,
Laid upon them within my reach,
Is this reason why I gleam?

I can see it now; it's become so clear,
It was always there, so close, so near,
The beauty that my eyes have seen,
Is you, the angel from within my dream.
