The Wind Blows

The wind
blows across the water
ripples
waves
than back to the glass-like surface
like your face
etched in worry
creased in sorrow
than back to completely numb
blank
reflecting the world around you
but never able to look in
and so like the surface of the water
that it scares me
and I tend to shy away
from you
and even from my own emotions
for I fear
that like you
I am becoming like the water
flowing over everything
never staying in one place
being passed over
but yet being used
needed
but like water
never enough to quench your thirst
and I'm slowly
dripping
slipping away
all because you are like the
wind blown across the water
