Fading words

So many things were left untold
When that fateful night came
And my life did unfold

So many things I wish I could say
But now my voice is silent
My soul can not stay

I was taken away
Before my words could take flight
During a desperate fray
I had tried to fight

Now I shall be gone
And I take secrets with me
I leave with the fading light of dawn
