We got everything, except what we want.

by ~Patiently Waiting~   Oct 30, 2005

In this destination I try and keep my concentration,
Thoughts of the enialation all across the nation.
Thoughts are blurred, then a thought occurs,
All the bad, the reason I can see,
The result of our stupidity.
Too smart for our own minds,
Too smart is mankind.
With our intelligence though,
We cant find,
A few simple needs,
Freedom and peace.
Through the thousands of years,
All the fears and the tears,
The inventions discovered,
All the mysteries uncovered.
The miracles made,
All unneccesary expences paid.
The modern marvels we experiance,
We still seem dilerious.
No space for the basics,
We find time for war and other what fors.
But no time for our simple needs.
Instead we turn to,
Politics and rules,
Stupid fools.
Inventions of tools,
And inground pools.
Money for technology,
Another something to do,
All that money,
Could be put towards a cure for bird flu.
Or them poor kids in Africa,
Starving without parents,
But we sitting here,
Begging our parents.
Asking for a TV in our rooms,
Big companies ruining the clean air with poisonus fumes.
The world was better off,
When the caveman had only fire,
Now we have everything, except the most desired.
No freedom, no peace, an uneven balance across the world.

So true. you put all of that fabulously into words!!
great job.. i completely agree..but one voice can't change the near impossible you know?
brought up with all these luxeries that are now seen as such necessities...i don't think a lot of people could grow out of that. Although i know i sure would if it was to make some balance in this world.

    (sorry for babbling on:P)
    take care xoxo
