Silent Noise

by Lyn   Nov 1, 2005

In my experience I have found
I never heard the quiet, haunting sound,
As my soul slipped back to Egypt on its own,
Until I realised ........ I was alone.
And oh the noise that from that silence came,
Oh the horror and the knowing of my shame,
The striving just to gain the ground I\'d lost,
\'Til I returned to knowing Jesus paid the cost;
\'Til I returned to my first love and cast aside
The empty things that claimed and filled my life;
\'Til I\'m not satisfied with anything that\'s less
Than loving Him, and not for how he\'ll bless;
Than loving Him who died to save my soul,
Who died that I might be completely whole;
Loving Him for who and what He is;
God\'s Son, my Saviour and my King
