Reaching Out

by Jo   Nov 2, 2005

I try to leave a lasting impression;
Something to be remembered by.
But just like everything else,
I'm shoved to the back of your mind,
And my use is saved for a later time.

I try to say things that you'll want to hear;
Something you'll want to listen to.
But just like before,
It's never worthy enough for your attention,
And you don't hear a word.

I try to be someone that you can be proud of;
Someone of importance to you.
But just like everyone else,
My existence doesn't matter,
And you walk right through me as if I wasn't even there.

I try to make it clear to you;
The things I'm going through.
But just like my other cries for help,
You never realize that this may be your last chance,
And that this is me, reaching out to you once again.
