Hard Earned Success

by ~Patiently Waiting~   Nov 2, 2005

In an area of America overrun by the whites,
There is one kid who lives life as a fight.
He is not like them, in their eyes a freak,
He is seen as a dirty selfish nigger who is weak.

People fear the truth,
There are blacks in the youth.
He is pushed away, isolated from the town,
To the whites, this kid is hell bound.

He is forced to sit on the bus, right down the back,
All because his skin is black.
When he walks by himself along the street,
He has people threatening to knock him down at his feet.

He has dreams of being a doctor,
So he can save someones life.
Even though these white people try to take his breath,
He still finds the kindness to want to save them from death.

So everyday he goes to school,
Where things are as bad, he isnt considered cool.
He gets bullied but he still studies hard,
But then comes lunch, where he is physically abused in the yard.

Years pass, he has scars on his arms,
All from the students inflicting harm.
He is by far the smartest in class,
But the white teacher does not give him a pass.

He is angry, he cant go to college,
He put in everything with all of his heart,
He never had a chance,
Not from the start.

He looks else where,
He needs a career,
But he has no money so he begs,
After all the hard work over all the years.

He moves town,
He goes to the ghetto,
In the hope things there,
Would be a little better.

On the streets of New York,
It is far more poor,
Racism is still a factor,
But now he doesnt fight alone.

He studies even harder,
Reading books on the street,
In the hope that one day,
This injustice will be beat.

He gets a job,
Working 10 hours a day,
The money isnt good,
But it could find him a way.

He saves up everything,
And he lives out of bins,
And he finally gets to college,
He has hopes of a win.

Years later he gets his degree,
He becomes a great surgeon,
He remembers back in those days,
With all the white people and their ways.

In comes a patient,
As pale as could be,
His teacher who failed him,
Lies there, his student he can see.

The teacher, now fired from his job,
So now he is an unsuccessful farmer,
He has only days to live,
Sweet, sweet Karma.

~If you are white imagine what it would be like,
And if you are not, I am sorry for the lot.~

~Sorry for the slavery back in those years,
And sorry for now if you have ever lived in fear.~
