To The Dogs of War

by herrick   Nov 3, 2005

This Poem is dedicated to a Man who died for a cause, a cause, NOT HIS CAUSE, but the cause, that is the cause of all that applause me. He did not have to serve, but he did protect, I can never forget that, This man was more a of a man than I ever can believe. I can\'t believe that your gone Justin\" I miss you! But i will see you again in between dreams. ANOTHER MARINE LEFT BEHIND!!!! Let\'s just erase our enemy lines, rewind time, and try to find another way to change the masses mind, and MY FRIEND would still be alive!!!!

The Shadow Of A Man

From across the world i could see your shadow
while the light surrounding you set my eyes afire
and something just below,
with an even stronger glow
rises up and rips out of my chest,
I am left with no desire
To live!
ad mist this messy mass, stripped of all their values
to dig and die
in the mud for all to witness
if we submit
we lose already,
if we rise we can hold steady
In our faith and in her kiss
We wish!
one day to be free from ourselves
We shall!
one day see what hell is all about,
or maybe not
Either way
we can eat drink and be merry
if just to forget the edge that has us constantly asking ourselves
what?
and What then?
or what now?
or how about how?
How about now?
F**!
can we do that?
Please?
Just Release!
Please Release
Pull me down into your arms and keep me warm
from all the cruel uncertainties that this world will allow
It is worse then a God D-ed disease.
this war has me on my knees
PRAYING
LORD PLEASE
Release ME!
From this prison cell
From my man made hell
I yell!!!
And...
Now I am
The Shadow Of A Man
