The Picture of Depression

by Cody   Nov 4, 2005

From what I see, as light draws near
Is a past of darkness and filled with fear
No shelter for a kid crying in pain
No escape from all the evil's slain
A heart in tears from people so close
Under a cloud stretched from coast to coast
Sitting in a corner, watching life pass by
His cries for help, expressed with a sigh
As demons all around take and take
His heart, once pure, begins to break
And as the mask begins to form
Around his heart the walls are born
No anger, no stress, no sadness or grief
He begins to experience a sign of relief
Not long thereafter, he begins to see
By breaking away, he'll never be set free
The feelings of darkness continues to grow
Till the walls in his heart can no longer hold
Big and loud, they come pouring out
And suddenly that sigh turns into a shout
And for once everyone can see the truth
A pain so grown, disguised by youth
And with that insight, hope seeps through
Till that kid is just a kid you knew
