Enough

by Daniel Alexander   Nov 4, 2005

Apathy, the old woman dies
Smatterings of heart-felt cries
Feels like we've been here so long
I've heard these sounds like never before
The crack of knuckles, begging for more
Gasping for breath as we can't come up strong
-------------------------
I don't want my children's world running red
With your hate
I know you think the time is now
You can wait
Because I've seen it so long
This new "love"
That you use to strengthen yourself
I've had enough
-------------------------
You never had the answers
Only had your spreading cancers
Everything you said to me was a lie
Saying it wasn't all you
Like I had something to do
With your making yourself cry
Mixed your metaphors
And I fell to the floor
My songs became those of love
I picked myself apart
And you tore out my heart
So I can say I've had enough
