She takes out mommys makeup kit
And mommys favorite shoes
Starts applying little shades of red
And light shades of blue.
She prances around in mommys clothes
All around the room
Yet, poor child I do wonder, why are you trying to grow up so soon?

Wipe off the makeup

Put on your own shoes-
Your own clothes
Go sit in mommys lap
As she sings you a lullaby
Hold on tight-
Cherish these moments
Because one day you'll find yourself singing your own lullaby
Holding your own child
As she falls asleep in your lap.
