Remembrance

by cLumsy   Nov 5, 2005

I sit down on a park bench
Looking at the sky
Remembering the moments
That you left behind

The day you told me "I love you"
The kiss you stole from me
The way you took my lonely heart
The way you made me see

Cold icy tears
Run freely down my face
I stand up reminiscing
And walk a steady pace

The day you told me "Goodbye"
The day you went away
The way you left so suddenly
The reason you won't stay

I head down to Main Street
There's no where else to go
I cannot run away
From the memories ago

The day you told me "Hi, I'm back"
The day you finally returned
The way you came so suddenly
The way my heart had burned

And still, after 20 years
You won't give up on me
Even though you've passed away
You soul still haunts my dreams.

Dedicated to the people who've lost their love, and to tell them they still have a chance to love again.
