Drunk Driving:The Victim's View (part 1)

by sillylittlegirl   Nov 8, 2005

I went to a party with my friends
I wanted to have some fun
while everyone else got drunk
I was the sober one

they drank all night long
and I danced and waited
I was offered tons of alcohol
but I refused to drink it

it was sometime the next morning
everyone was going home
all of my friends were way too drunk
so it was me who drove

I started the car
and I headed off
I was almost done
just one last stop

I dropped her off
now I was alone
today was my little sister's birthday
I had to get home

five minutes from my house
and I see a truck
it's coming at me quickly
nowhere to duck

the truck tries to swerve
but it hits me straight
I flew through the windshield
the seatbelt couldn't keep me safe

I was laying on the ground
as the police pulled up
they pronounced me dead
and put me in a big truck

the other driver was drinking
then why did I die
they go and tell my mom
please sis don't cry

the worst part is
she was my best friend
the one who saved me
made it come to an end

they put me in my casket
and lower me into my grave
because of a drunk driver
I won't see another day
