It's Autumn in Candler Park

by Shelby Bridges   Nov 8, 2005

Is it the crispness in the air
or the wind as it softly blows
That reminds me of a winters day
shaded in white sometime ago
The trees had begun to glisten
and give way to crystal chandeliers
As the sunlight dances with diamonds
that would trickle around our ears

There's a softness in this wonderland
and a feeling that seems to grow
Like an everlasting landscape
filled with voices in the snow
Around the corner theres a school
and across the street lies a park
Where I would challenge the fairways
on my cardboard sled till dark

That may have been a winters day
I remember some time ago
Filled with voices of laughter
and smiles that seem to glow
Now as I stand and see the colors
that will give way to winters bark
My wonderland is around the corner
because it's Autumn in Candler Park
