Black Rose of Thee

by Alex   Nov 10, 2005

Thorns sharp
Oh delicate flower
Is there a reason for the pain?
I grew you tall
If you don’t recall
Black rose, you bring suffering to me

Why do you repay me with such misery?
Your petals are lovely
But your thorns are sharp
You may have soul but you have no heart
Oh black rose of thee

I shed these tears upon your petals
I drip this blood upon your thorns
I curse these words upon your stem
Your ingrate may throw at my feet misfortune
But your intentions I shall avoid
I am your creator
Oh black rose of thee

The death last week was caused by you
Yesterday I died too
You may appear a rose
But your existence is such like a weed’s
I tried to get rid of you
But a single grip would rid myself
I guess you have other ways, though
Oh black rose of thee
Why do you cause such misery?
