Home is where the heart is

by just a poet   Nov 11, 2005

What do people mean,
home is where the heart is?

i suppose it means home is where you are loved,
a place that act as a haven,
a place that radiates warmth,
somewhere where there are people who would lay down their lives for you.

well to me home is with my family,
it may be living on streets or in a magnificent palace,
it may with scrapes of food found in bins or lavish feasts in Honor of me,
it may be wearing rags or the most regal of clothes.

those things mean nothing to me,
as long as my family is with me i am a queen,
the most fortunate of all,
the richest in all the world.

material possessions mean nothing to me,
as long as my family stand by me then i am happy,
as long as they are happy then i am a goddess,
as long as they live then i live.

i dint know what i would do if my family broke down,
if one died or left town,
all i know is that without them,
all three,
i am nothing, nothing worthy.

i would lay my life down,
for them all,
i would sacrifice my happiness,
to see them smile.

they have always been there for me,
through good and bad,
and my heart is with them,
my home is where they are.

so i suppose to me that is what,
home is where the heart is, means!
