A cause worth fighting for

by just a poet   Nov 11, 2005

How many causes have we fought for?
how many of them useless?
how many times have we lacked in faith,
and so have surrendered.

world peace and happiness,
the end to famine all round,
the end to wars and prejudice,
all causes worth a fight.

what can we do in this long road,
to help with causes as big as this,
we can do our bit however little,
together we shall succeed.

do not judge people on colour,
be it skin, eyes or hair,
not all blonds are dumb,
nor all Asian's terrorist.

ever one is an individual,
do you bit do not judge,
stand up for those who are being hurt,
by those hurt because of prejudice.

do not waste food,
take little and if you need more take a little more,
don't take too much then throw it away,
take as much as you need.

do not fight with people,
show you are opposed to war,
do not break people's hearts,
these things are good start, for sure!

we do not all aim to change the world,
but by doing our bit,
we shall work as a family,
and finally succeed where all else has failed!
