Vampire's Lament

by Jordan   Nov 12, 2005

I shall linger here in this cemetery.
Just once more to grieve.
Another burden I no longer wish to carry.

My lover, my child, my forever...
The first blood covenant sealed with eternity's kiss.
Yet, your life--mortals did sever.

The mausoleum gates are swinging,
And I'm left broken and spilling forth with such undying agony.
Many years pass and still this bitter stinging!

I think I shall sit beside you whilst you rest,
We shall finally watch the sun rise together.
And as my ashes rise--together we'll meet again at the crest.

Oh, my dear,
How I wish you could witness this orange sea with your own eyes!
The sky has never been so bright--the end is so clear.

I love you always.

Wow, wow, wow, when I did get the meaning of this poem, my mouth was left hanging open. This is incredible, it is filled with emotions, lots of it, the love, the pain, the yearning, everything. Powerful. I can't imagine the pain this vampire has to suffer, alone in this world. Powerful write. I really like this. =D
