Silhouettes

by samuel   Nov 16, 2005

Shadows stalk by our wall
Tracing a frame of me and my brother
As we sit side by side
On the corridor
Silhouettes of our companionship
Silhouettes of our love
Silhouettes of our friendship
Shadows stalk by our wall
Tracing a frame of life itself
Life that is shared
Even if not anticipated
Life that is lived
Even if not mastered
Life that is enjoyed
Even if not conquered
Shadows remind us that even if we are intelligent
We do not know enough
Not enough to trust
Nor to conquer
Nor to succeed.
We need something outside ourselves.
We need all of life itself;
We need each other
Even when we do not know
Each other well enough
