Im guilty as Charged

by Fact and Fiction   Nov 18, 2005

So the verdict is in and I am guilty as charged.
Sentenced to death because I refuse to fall.
My heart was being threatened and I had to use self-defense.
Why should I let down my guard and put my trust in love.
If they say love is blind, why waste my time?

But love can be so gentle, beautiful and sweet,
But if used by the wrong person it's armor for deceit,
Used to manipulate, conquer and destroy.
The heartbreak is inevitable; the heart is just a toy.
So no matter how I try my fate seems always sealed.
How do you protect yourself,
When your heart is your only shield?

So while you can pretend,
To move on or go back where you started.
I will forever be poignant,
Disfigured and broken hearted.
So I give up. Nothing to give nothing to loose,
No heart to be broken, no trust to be misused.
So the verdict is in and I'm guilty as charged.
Sentenced to death because I'll never fall in love again.
