Not Making it

by Fact and Fiction   Jul 13, 2005

Her face drained of color as she walked down the hall
Her eyes dripping black from the sadness she had been trying to hold back
The shame of having to live with the fact they thought she wasn’t good enough
All the answers to questions she would have to answer with a no

It wasn't fair
Unfortunately their happiness is something she coouldn't share
Her friends screaming with happiness as they read down the sheet
The blank look on her face saying how could this happen to me

“Its not fair”, she screams
She was better then them
But noone would know now
There was know way as she lost all confidence
Stepping into what she called “the end”
In the hope of never returning to this so called wonderful Land
For she knew here she would never be like everyone else

So she would have to live in her dreams
Where she could sit on a cloud and look over the oceans
Where she could watch the sun set every night
And look at the beautiful colors as they filled the sky
Where she could go to the end of each rainbow and find a pot of gold
A place that she knew would never grow old
