In a whisper

by brown eyes and a melancholy smile   Nov 18, 2005

In a whisper

She's all alone again,
Look, she's crying yet again,
And as she dries her eyes,
Salvation comes in sweet disguise,
She whispers lies into the air,
One more excuse for renewed despair.

Soul of weathered hope,
Hope for truth, there's nothing left to loose,
And as excuses hang in the air,
So does the painful truth, no-one is there,
Yet she seems not to care.

If she calls her own bluff,
Excuses become truth enough,
And she seeks comfort in the dark,
Blinded by her bleeding heart,
So she whispers lies into the air,
Yet another excuse for why she doesn't care.
