Empty Road

by Christine   Nov 19, 2005

Here I am again down this empty road,
Empty without anyone,
Without a noise,
Silent as when the night comes,
Empty like an a banded house,
With empty houses on every side,
Lost people without any homes,
Lonely animals without a friend,
Rainy days seem to last so long,
Making the days colder to survive,
Every now and than moans are heard,
Voices of sadness are heard all around,
Songs with pain are sang throughout the day,
Nights are too dark to see now,
Dangerous in every step you make,
This road is empty all the time,
Day after day no one visits,
No one comes,
No one comes to help,
Left without a sign to guide,
Again I walk down to see the emptiness,
I wonder around to see what's new,
But find nothing but darkness and isolated grounds,
And the sky is full of clouds,
The sky is now grey and white,
Without a single light color to be seen,
Without that blue to lighten it up,
Days passing and no color in this place,
Heres this empty road once more,
Far away from other roads,
Far away on the other side of town,
I began to worry what will become of this place,
Empty stars at night,
As empty as the sun,
Left to rot without a touch of nature,
Disappearing more every minute,
So slow you can watch it,
As slow as when the earth spins,
Once again the road is gone,
Disappeared somewhere else,
Left in pieces,
Can't put them back together,
So now it's gone and no longer the empty street I knew,
I say my goodbyes and walk away,
Empty road don't past by me,
Empty road why must you be so long?
Empty road why can't you refix yourself,
Empty road why must you be so empty?
Empty road you're just not the only one that's empty,
There must be another one just like you,
So go one to search for it,
Just don't fade away in the dark.
