A drift to memories

by canny   Nov 20, 2005

As rain began to pour down
So did my heart, revealing its secrets.
Walking through the long, grassy path at night
The moon peeked through the rain clouds.
I imagined that rain washed away my pains,
One tear from my eye vanished from my face
The air smelled comforting, like a baby’s scent
Trees waved through the rain like dancing grace.
The light of the moon shone through the clouds of rain
The life that passed in front of my eyes
Once again came forth and unveiled the darkness
Like the sun rising in the ceaseless horizon
Been born just like a star in the sky.
All the memories flickered in my mind like fast moving photographs
There was a seed, growing into a plant, and then a tree,
And the fruits that ripen in the very branches of its arms,
Living life to the fullest, to the end, finally to its death
As the sun disappeared in the sky, so did the old tree, in its ground
And I turned off the memories from the past, leaving them behind.
Again I looked up as I lifted my head,
The rain had stopped and the moon was drifting into the past,
The wind blew the clouds away, as the sun from my
memories, was born once again.
