Autumn

by Jaklynn   Nov 21, 2005

Autumn is such a confusing season
Where nature beautifully contradicts
Bare gray trees against crisp blue sky
Vibrant red leaves against dying brown grass
Like paint carelessly splashed over a portrait
But done in such a way that nothings ruined
Such a feast for the senses, Autumn is
One last explosion before the dreary winter
To leave us with a sense of beauty until Spring
So we can survive the dark cold death to come
A chilly breeze and first snow flakes
Foreshadow what is to come
But it's such a beautiful season, Autumn
One speck of hope before the winter arrives
Because then, all is gone.
