Promises, Promises...

by Forsaken Redeemer   Nov 21, 2005

You promise me you'll protect me from the world,
That you'll love me more than anyone could,
That you know me, the depths of my soul,
That you'll understand me better than anyone would.

You promise me I won't cry any more
And wipe away the tear rested upon my cheek,
Tell me to hush, that it will be all right,
You understand, there's no need to speak.

You promise me no more pain,
No more blood to be shed for you,
That it's all over now and no more will happen,
No more nasty things to do.

You promise me that I'll be forever yours,
Always your angel, your beloved, your companion for life,
You tell me that there will be no more pain inside,
No more tears, no more arguments, no more strife.

You promise me this numbness will leave,
As I will fall into a blissful sleep,
So many words, so many lies,
Promises, promises, that you just can't keep...
