I Am Not a Witch

by Jona   Nov 22, 2005

My wife is gone
And I am left to pine
Feeling the guilt
Of all thats left behind
Pleas for her freedom
Confrontations with Abigail
Confessions of lies from Marry Warren
None of them seem to help
I'm left to deal with the pain
Of that damage I have inflicted upon my family
I feel that this is all my fault
I don't want to see
My good wife die for me
How could I have ever committed lechery?
My wife soon gets freed
Because she holds a piece of me
I have been blamed
Of witchcraft myself
But because I will not put my name to shame
Or put my friends down
In my own blood
I soon will drowned
My name is John Proctor
Of Salem Massachusetts
And I am NOT a witch

I wrote this poem for English class. We were reading the Crucible and had to write a poem for it so this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it!
