What I wish you knew

Something we both can agree on is that we failed miserably,
For everything there is something that'll always remind me,
of what we had for those four years.

I'm not quiet sure if our love grew over time
Or if our love grew apart after each and every lie?
Whether the happiness was too great for our young tender hearts
Or our naive minds were just too blind to see a beautiful start.

Something I wish you knew after the break
I cannot begin to tell you how much my heart just ached.
I slowly grew to become a girl so cold
To any guy who me, they tried to hold

Talking to you a few times a month became all we had,
I told you about how I met someone new, but still inside I was so sad.
I never met anyone, nor will I who could ever compare to you
I just wanted to let you know because that story I told was untrue.

They say,
"To loose a love, you learn to love"
And I believe that this is true,
For I wouldn't have experienced love at all, if it wasn't because of you.
