What I See In Me

by Jill Turner   Dec 17, 2003

When you look at me,
What do you see?
Do you see inside me,
And see the real me?
Or do you just see,
Some little girl,
With a pretty face,
Hidding away from the world?
When I look at me,
All I can see,
Is a girl locked up,
Who just wants to be free.
But no matter how hard she trys,
She just hides away,
Keeps her feelings in,
Because she's afraid.
Afraid to show emotion,
Afraid to feel,
Afraid to get hurt,
Afraid to be real.
There's so much inside,
That she has to give,
But she doesn't know how,
Because she's afraid to live.
She wants to break the chains,
Tear down the walls,
That are keeping her from,
Allowing herself to fall.
She wants to fall,
So she can learn to fly,
She wants to be free,
Before she dies.
