What do i do?

I got in an argument,
with a so called best Friend,
and you said you had to pick,
and of course you did say,
that your first choice was me,
but you wanted to make the right decision,
so you could be free.

you told me liked me,
once again you cared,
but of course you had to ask if i felt the same,
and that is one thing that does not matter,
because we both know that your mother hates me.

she want a girl that'll listen to you,
that'll do anything you want her to,
and we both know that,
i cannot be that girl,
i have to speak up,
and try to have my say,
and though your thoughts are important,
you will not be the best.

i don't know what to do,
because i may care about you,
but the simple truth is,
you broke my heart once,
unintentionally maybe,
and i don't want it all to happen again.

i need to talk to you,
but can i get the courage,
please don't make me cry,
don't make me hurt anymore,
make it all better,
because i know you can,
and all i can say is that I'm confused!!
