You are still here

by Libby M   Nov 26, 2005

You are still here

You are everywhere,
In my thoughts, my dreams,
I see your face on every wall,
Like frames hung on ramparts.
You are still here.

They all tell me you are Gone.
Finding you would be hard to do,
But how come I hear you,
I sense you, and miss you?
You are still here.

You’ve come to me so many times
Your words were loud and clear,
But I am stuck with sad images of you.
I still see you like I saw you that night,
I have not forgotten, the days of the past,
They will never let me be.
You are still here.

I can’t help but miss you,
mom, why did you have to go?
Why now, why so soon, Oh Lord,
Why on that night?
I waited for you to fall asleep,
Oh mom, I didn’t know-
I didn’t know sleep was your last resort.

Death came and took you away from me,
I couldn’t fight it, Jesus looked straight at me.
The heavens Longed for you, longed more than I ever did-
So, let you go I watched you fly-
Oh but I miss you so…

Deep within, I feel your company
And no matter where I will go,
I know you will always be with me-
Watching over me, like angels do,
You my dearest Mom,
Are still here-
Here with me.
