The Rain Will Fall on St. Lawrences Church

by StormyWeather   Nov 26, 2005

For once they sit and tie their shoes in silence
And walk out of the pavilion hand in hand
The teachers watch their silent remembrance
For once, they understand

A year ago it poured with rain on those paths
And the pupils ran up to the top
They ran down the road as a car turned the corner
And couldnt see well to stop

Now this year theyll run down that road
And past the church on the right
And maybe theyll pause to try to block out
The horror and pain of that sight

Theyll run the cross country as best as they can
Theyll run through the mud and the dirt
But this time is different, this time the rain
Will fall on St. Lawrence's Church
