Formidable Companion

by Elizabeth Ann   Nov 27, 2005

Forever cannot outlive me, between us the better sons of Gods; a tumultuous trial of man as we lived out one life and lost. Jealousy untold by our young immortality…we have crossed no foreign barrier as those who came before us. We took out our flaws whilst among men, harboring our resentment for being singled out, knowing with a will we were outdone by our lessers, yet powerless to defeat our fate.

Now, a formidable companion to influence, I stretch my wings and shadow those I used to live in fear. I seed the Earth with my indulgence, acting as one of them and warming to those who would act like me; cooing as well they know me before I glimpse their minds. For all intentions laid before me I raise, saddled in confidence given with my compliments.

Those closer to me I embrace, sharing in my womb this haven made of heaven. As one and not just I, singled out immortal, the days of paradise rains upon us her glory. In the distance, it will not only be I who sings for the angels past, as their kin stay in prostration through faith that they will grace them.

I have been reborn, once a slave to my birth…only to rise as something far beyond what I used to define as hope. And as I stood upon that dais looking down, I had realized it did not qualify as thus, but a golden providence. I had found a world that wasn’t human, and became its master.
