When The Truth Shall Ruin What You Love

by CaffeineBomb   Nov 28, 2005

A single teardrop falls
A testimony to the pain
Like my broken heart should dwell
In the sadness of the rain
And my skin should feel it fall
And join my mind to be ashamed
That I could be so foolish
As to think you feel the same

A single truth remains
A secret kept by lock and key
In case my mind should let it wander
And my tongue should set it free
And I should ruin all the good times
Just by one verbal escapee
My wild heart may hate the lies
It's better than you hating me

So I listen while you talk
Your words like all I ever want
Savoured as my greatest gift
I ever got from your sweet lips

A single teardrop falls
To usher in another day
It gears my broken heart for news
That everything remains the same
My greatest friend is the only one
Who cannot ever know my name
He lives alone, and he is hope
The hope that one day feelings change
