To Old Friend

by whammie   Nov 30, 2005

To my old friend who I left in the past,
I'm sorry our friendship didn't last
We always said best friends till the end,
Whenever i needed help, you always had a hand to lend
but middle school came
and schools changed
fights broke out
and it seemed like all we could do was shout
so i finally lost you,
never again would it be just us two,
but sometimes I miss our good times,
especially while I'm writing these rhymes,
so dear old friend
maybe one day we'll meet again,
for now I'll see you in my dreams,
until we decide to patch up our broken seams

Wow, that's a really good poem. But it tells a truth that's hard to accept. People change over the years, and so do friendships. It's sad. But you did an amazing job with this poem. Keep writing and take care.
